Autumn at the Moselle

Back in October I visited the charming village of Hatzenport in the Moselle valley. Autumn really is the best time of the year to go there when all the vineyards are turning red and yellow. 20171014_171528.jpg

One can take walks at the riverside and enjoy the beautiful landscape or even hike to the top of these vineyards to get a more scenic view.

If you enjoy a nice wine, you should definitely join a wine tasting in one of the smaller wine-growing estates. They usually offer a variety of different tastes and can recommend you certain types according to your preference, so there is no need to drink many glasses if you can name your likes and dislikes clearly.

There are also some towns nearby which are worth a visit like Treves and Coblence. It is definitely recommendable to plan a stay in this region, if you want to slow down a bit as there are lots of smaller villages and even the cities are relatively placid.
